Liebrecht & Wood NV provides real estate development services in Central Europe. Its portfolio includes offices, warehouses, outlet centers and retail projects. The company also manages lessee relationships, budgeting, planning and administration. In addition, it sells land plots for industrial purposes.
Requirements
- The client wanted a system where the users can browse through projects and portfolios across different countries and in different categories. The client required an option to upload details about these projects and portfolios along with their availability.
- Users should be able to select different languages from the website and the content should be changed accordingly. The client needs the ability to manage multilingual content through the admin side of the CMS.
- Users should be presented with random images on each page to get a glimpse of the client's field of business. The client should be able to upload and customise the background images for display.
- Users should have the option to contact the client through the web interface. On the client side, the client requires the option to view and manage the user queries through the backend
- Portfolios and Projects should have their own mini websites. These mini websites should be displayed full screen with the option to switch back to the main website
- A user should have the option to navigate the interactive map for projects and portfolios with all of the details displaying next to them. The client requires the option to customise all these settings on the maps in the backend administration panel
- Users should be able to view images and videos associated with the portfolio or project
The Solution
Liebrecht & Wood is a well-known real estate enterprise in Europe and their requirement was to create a multilingual website to showcase their business and areas of expertise. This website is a mix of Adobe Flash on the user side and Microsoft .NET on the server side. The communication between them is managed through a well-structured XML protocol. All major features of this website could be customised through the server side and changes are immediate on the client side. In addition, the site features multilingual capabilities. One can customise the site to meet the needs of different countries and cultures easily through the server side translations. Liebrecht & Wood administrators can update their projects and availability of services and these changes are reflected on the user-side.

Since this application is multilingual it is very difficult to switch to different pages for data entry on the admin side. So the system provides a pleasing interface by using unobtrusive JavaScript and Ajax. - Availability Checks
The availability of projects by category can be updated from the admin side and this propagates to the Flash interface. The system also manages the complexity in displaying the status of the project. - Background Changes
The client required a facility which will enable a visiting user to see a random image that represents the field of business of Liebrecht & Wood. This was accomplished through the client side Flash and the server side .NET integration through the XML. The administrators can manage the images through the backend of the website and the Flash side will display the background images randomly for the end-user. - A website built on the Microsoft .net platform with Adobe Flash integration
